Every gym has its holiday workout traditions, but at FitClub, we do things differently. Once a year—only once—we bring out a workout that’s become a rite of passage for our members. It’s festive, it’s challenging, and it delivers the kind of full-body intensity that fits perfectly with the energy of the season.
Welcome to the FitClub 12 Days of Christmas Workout.
If you think this workout follows the classic “1, then 2+1, then 3+2+1” version you may have seen elsewhere… think again. The traditional version is fun.
Ours is fun and demanding—because we expect more from the work we do here.
How the FitClub Version Works
Our format is simple to understand, but not simple to complete. It goes like this:
- Round 1: 1 rep of Exercise 1
- Round 2: 2 reps of Exercise 1 + 2 reps of Exercise 2
- Round 3: 3 reps of Exercise 1 + 3 reps of Exercise 2 + 3 reps of Exercise 3
- Round 4: 4 reps of Exercises 1–4
- …
- Round 12: 12 reps of all twelve exercises
You don’t just add reps—you multiply them.
By the time you hit the later rounds, you’re doing a massive amount of work across all major muscle groups. It requires strength, conditioning, pacing, focus, and a sense of humor when the burn hits.
This structure turns a seasonal workout into a true physical challenge that almost feels like unwrapping a present—each round reveals another layer.
Why We Do It This Way
The “FitClub version” isn’t harder for the sake of being hard. It’s designed with purpose:
1. It builds full-body endurance.
You’re repeating high-volume reps under increasing fatigue—great for developing both muscle and cardiovascular capacity.
2. It challenges movement quality.
As the reps climb, maintaining technique matters. This is a chance to test your discipline as much as your strength.
3. It creates a shared experience.
There’s nothing like looking around the room and knowing everyone else is pushing through the same grind. It brings the holiday spirit alive in the most FitClub way possible.
4. It’s only done once a year.
And that’s by design.
This workout feels special. You train for it without even realizing it all year long, and when it arrives, there’s a sense of excitement—mixed with just the right amount of fear.
Expectation vs. Execution
If you’ve been training consistently at FitClub, you’re prepared for this. Our programming intentionally includes:
- strength under fatigue
- functional movement
- conditioning intervals
- varied rep schemes
- progressive overload
So when this workout shows up, we expect you to meet it with effort, commitment, and pride.
But make no mistake—it’s still festive. The room is buzzing, people are laughing and groaning in equal measure, and the energy feels different than any other day of the year. It’s a chance to push yourself, celebrate your fitness, and kick off the season with a win.
How to Approach the Workout
1. Pace yourself.
Going out fast guarantees nothing except trouble later.
2. Move well first, then move fast.
Technique always beats sloppy speed.
3. Focus on breathing.
Steady breathing helps maintain rhythm across long sets.
4. Embrace the grind.
It’s supposed to get spicy. That’s why it’s fun.
5. Enjoy it.
It’s a tradition, not a test. You only get this one shot each year—make it count.
